Utilization Review

Pre-Authorization Review

Offered through MCMC, utilization review is a requirement for certain medical procedures in many jurisdictions. It is recommended that the following procedures be subject to review prior to authorization:

• Diagnostic tests such as CT scans, MRI, bone scans etc.
• DME equipment such as TENS and bone growth stimulators
• In patient hospitalization
• Home health services
• Pain management services
• Psychiatric treatment
• Rehabilitation services
• Work hardening programs
