New Maine Work Comp Rules In Effect September 1

Workers’ compensation practitioners in Maine return from the holiday weekend with an entirely new rule book. The Workers’ Compensation Board gave notice late Friday (8/31) that it adopted rule amendments proposed in July, and the new rules took effect Sept. 1.  The overhaul of adds language addressing fringe benefits, requires employers to give notice before terminating benefits, and revises the procedure for resolving medical fee disputes.
