Texas Bill Filed To Require Injured Workers Be Notified Of Right To Choose Doctor

A Texas State Senator recently filed a bill that would add to the notice of rights provided to an injured employee under the Texas workers' compensation system.   A bill was filed Wednesday, December 12th in the Texas Senate by Sen. Judith Zaffirini, D-Laredo that would require injured workers to be notified that they have a right to choose their treating doctor.

Senate Bill 229 would require the notice to state that an injured employee has the right to choose a treating doctor, including a doctor of medicine, osteopathic medicine, etc.
