School Auto Liability

Minor impact accident between a school bus and a parked car. The school bus backed into the car. There were multiple students on board. Multiple injuries were alleged by students and all were represented by the same attorney. There was less than $1000 damage to the two vehicles combined. The school had on bus video capabilities.
A meeting was arranged between the public schools, K-12 and school district attorney, claimant attorney and ASC representative to view the video. In order to preserve the other students privacy rights it was agreed that no copies would be provided & no students except for those alleging injury would be identified. When the claimant attorney had to have the moment of the impact shown to him by time stamp comparisons, due to the lack of movement by the students on the bus, he elected to withdraw all of the claims. This was a preemptive action taken to resolve the matter prior to litigation and resulted in a significant financial savings for the school both from a damages and legal cost standpoint.
